Thank you for your interest in supporting the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative (Initiative). The Initiative gratefully accepts monetary or in-kind donations from individuals and businesses/corporations if:

a) The donation is wholly consistent, in fact and appearance, with the activities, policies, mission, goals, and/or programs of the Initiative.

b) The donation is not linked to a requirement that the Initiative endorse any company, products, policies, or services.

Overweight children are far more likely to be obese as adults (California Center of Public Health Advocacy, 2009)
Walking and biking have decreased more than 40% during the past 3 decades, partly because of unsafe routes and poor walking conditions (Active Living Research, 2009).
If today’s current trend continues, it is anticipated that 1 in 3 children born in the US after the year 2000 will develop type 2 diabetes (American Diabetes Association, 2009).
